Mechatronics Engineering, BSc

The Mechatronics Engineering BSc program at the University of Debrecen is designed to train professionals capable of synergistically combining mechanical engineering with electronics, electrotechnics, and computer control. Students will able to complete routine design, operation, and maintenance of mechatronic equipment and processes, to introduce and apply mechatronic technologies, to organize energy-efficient and environmental process and production management, and to complete average tasks in engineering development and design considering the needs of the international labour market.

Program Overview

 
The program starts in September of each year.
 
All courses are taught in English; therefore, a B2 level English proficiency is required.
 
Admission requires a high school certificate and passing entrance exams in Mathematics and Physics.
 
This is a 3.5-year program consisting of 7 academic semesters
 
Students earn 210 ECTS in total.

In the Mechatronics Engineering BSc at the University of Debrecen, we put a significant emphasis on practical training and a mandatory industrial internship. Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, there is a compulsory 6-week practice that needs to be completed at a production company.

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

Mechatronics engineering has a wide range of application in the business and industrial sectors. Graduates of mechatronics engineering can work in the fields of robotics, nanotechnology, automation, aircraft engineering, oceanography, oil and gas industry, biomedical systems, transport, and computer-aided design.

What are the language requirements for Mechatronics Engineering BSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Mechatronics Engineering BSc?

Yes, admission is based on a high school certificate and online entrance exams in Mathematics and Physics.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the BSc in Mechatronics Engineering operates on a single-cycle academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year. The application deadline is 15th June. Ensure your documents are submitted through the Official Online Platform before the deadline.

 

How much does it cost to study Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,500 USD / year for this program. 

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
